Update: H1N1 vaccination clinics

November 7, 2009

CALGARY / EDMONTON, AB -  Alberta Health Services (AHS) has been asked to clarify the recent announcement about expansion of the H1N1 vaccination program for high risk people.

As the focus is currently on vaccinating and protecting young children, we prefer that adults who are eligible for vaccination, namely the parents and caregivers* of infants under six months of age, attend the Commonwealth Stadium site in Edmonton or the Stampede Grandstand site in Calgary to receive immunization. These sites can accommodate very large groups.

However, parents or caregivers of infants under six months of age will NOT be turned away should they choose to attend one of the other clinic locations.

All individuals in the other high risk groups eligible for vaccination can also attend any of the clinics available.

For more information on the vaccination campaign, including dates and groups being vaccinated, please visit www.albertahealthservices.ca.

*Note: Both parents or one parent and one caregiver are eligible for vaccination starting November 10, 2009.
