Handicap parking improvements at Medicine Hat Regional Hospital
August 27, 2010
MEDICINE HAT – Work to improve access to pay stations for handicapped parking at the main entrance to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (MHRH) will begin this weekend.
Convenient, affordable parking is a concern to Alberta Health Services, as well as the safety and well-being of patients and visitors. With that in mind, additional pay stations will be installed in the handicapped parking area, closer to actual parking spaces.
New lines for parking spaces will be painted this weekend. In order to keep disruption to visitors to a minimum, small sections will be barricaded off and painted (paint dries in approximately 30 minutes). Beginning early next week, once the work is complete, the pay stations will be moved to their new locations.
The goal is to reduce the walking distance to and from parking pay stations, and to make the process more convenient for drivers with disabilities as well as individuals assisting disabled family members or friends.
We apologize in advance for any inconvenience the work may cause, but we believe this short period of disruption will result in a more accessible and convenient payment system for drivers using the handicapped spaces.
If you require any further information or have any concerns once work is complete please feel to contact Parking Services at Parking@albertahealthservices.ca.
