Alberta Health Service Board seeks to engage executive search and management compensation consulting firms
August 29, 2008
EDMONTON, AB - The Alberta Health Services Board is inviting interested and qualified executive search and management firms to submit proposals to conduct executive searches for the Chief Executive Officer, senior executive leadership positions, and to analyse existing compensation plans and recommend a single province-wide compensation package for management employees.
"This approach will ensure an effective process for recruiting the very best health care administrators for Alberta's health care system," said Chairman Ken Hughes. "Competitive compensation is critical to recruiting and retaining the staff necessary to provide service across the province to meet the health care needs of Albertans."
One request for proposal (RFP) seeks to engage a vendor to provide Executive Search Services for the position of Chief Executive Officer. A separate RFP seeks a vendor to provide Executive Search Services for the positions of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Operating Officer of Corporate Services and the Chief Operating Officer of Planning and Programs. The third request for proposal is for Management Compensation Consulting Services to review and analyze the existing compensation, benefits, and pensions across the twelve organizations which comprise Alberta Health Services, and to recommend options for consolidated arrangements.
The three requests for proposals have been posted online at www.purchasingconnection.ca and each has a closing date in early September.
Alberta Health Services is an organization of 80,000 employees which is responsible for delivering health care services to more than three million Albertans across the province.
