New Health Information Centre to serve Stettler & area

STETTLER, AB - The David Thompson Health Region Foundation and Alberta Health Services are pleased to announce the official opening of the Stettler Health Information Centre at the Stettler Hospital & Care Centre.
"The new information centre has been made available thanks to a donation received from the RBC Financial Group through the RBC Foundation - Alberta and NWT. RBC Foundation is a community-minded organization with a strong and demonstrated interest in health and wellness," says Frances Chant, Interim Executive Director for the David Thompson Health Trust.
"Thanks to their support, we were also able to establish the Fred Vincett Wellness Centre in Red Deer in 2006, as well as the Wetaskiwin Health Information Kiosk in 2008. Plans are now underway for a similar centre in Drumheller," says Chant.
"The Stettler site will provide current, credible and accessible information," says Dixie Anderson, Manager, Library and Media Services for Alberta Health Services, Stettler. "The information will be provided in a variety of forms, such as brochures and computer access for online searches to suit the various learning styles of the many individuals who will visit the centre."
The Stettler Health Information Centre is open to the public from 7 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., daily.
Alberta Health Services is the provincial health authority responsible for planning and delivering health supports and services for more than 3.5 million adults and children living in Alberta. Its mission is to provide a patient-focused health system that is accessible and sustainable for all Albertans.
