Integrating Health Care Delivery & Leading Edge Research
- True bench-to-bedside care: an integrated system of research, clinical education and patient care at major tertiary hospitals
- Substantial university-based research, including two medical schools, closely integrated with healthcare delivery service
- Alberta scientists invented The ReJoyce (Rehabilitation Joystick for Computerized Exercise) system that improves the quality of life for people who have weak or paralysed hands following a stroke or brain injury.
- In June 2010, Alberta Innovates – Health Solutions awarded $43 million in funding support to 37 outstanding health researchers across the province – among the richest research awards in Canada
- Another "Made in Alberta" advance: The ginseng-based Cold-fX, which has been clinically proven to battle cold and flu viruses
